BEFORE its ends on Tuesday February 18th, I’m inviting residents living locally to give their views on ongoing Post Office consultations concerning Maesteg Post Office: which may move from its existing location to Premier Store Commercial Street, 138-139 Commercial Street.
I’ve received multiple examples of constituent correspondence highlighting various views e.g. that these proposals reduce relative availability of service points on offer (from four to two in its old location, pre-pandemic) – and asking why the Post Office is initially considering changes at all.
I’ve consequently contacted Post Office officials asking for further information related to this, equally requesting that they give enough time to process any feedback received before final decisions are affirmed.
Given a number of other branches have closed completely in recent years, it’s important service-users are afforded an appropriate input into this process particularly when unintended consequences could easily arise – for example suitability of new locations on people who rely on public transport to visit Post Offices.
Please let them know your views on this important issue! I’m interested in hearing from you over this topic too – you can contact me via email using [email protected].
