Dr Altaf Hussain MS has met with representatives from the National Allergy Strategy Group (NASG) to discuss the development of the forthcoming UK National Allergy Strategy (2025–2035) — a comprehensive plan aimed at improving allergy services, education, and support for patients across the country.

During the meeting, Dr. Hussain emphasised the importance of ensuring equitable access to allergy diagnosis and treatment within the NHS, as well as strengthening public awareness and professional training to meet the growing challenges of allergic disease.

“I was delighted to meet with the National Allergy Strategy Group to discuss their vital work on the new UK National Allergy Strategy, Allergies affect millions of people and can have a profound impact on daily life. I look forward to working with NASG and colleagues from across the political spectrum to ensure that allergy care receives the national attention and resources it deserves.”

The National Allergy Strategy Group is a coalition of leading professional and patient organisations, including the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) and Allergy UK. The group’s mission is to strengthen NHS allergy services, enhance professional training, and improve outcomes for people living with allergies.

Dr. Hussain’s ongoing engagement with NASG reflects his commitment to supporting evidence-based health policy and ensuring that patients with allergic conditions have access to high-quality, timely care.
