Dr Altaf Hussain MS met Cllr. Wayne Douglas Carpenter, Neath Port Talbot's Mayor 2024-25:
I’m honoured last week visiting historically-significant The Orangery, Margam Park for the inauguration of Cllr Wayne Douglas Carpenter as Mayor of Neath Port Talbot alongside a host of other dignitaries & guests. Cllr. Carpenter spoke movingly of his time growing up, and about his work before becoming a county councillor highlighting how important it remains delivering good-quality public services. A lovely celebration, not least because of performances by Cerdd NPT Music whose young people played brilliantly throughout this civic ceremony!
I'm extending my best wishes to NPT's Mayor & Lady Mayoress over their time in office. I'm particularly pleased over their designated charities, one of them under umbrella of Diabetes UK. I'm proudly chairing Senedd's Cross Party Group on Diabetes within which they're our secretariat.
