I'm proudly supporting my Welsh Conservative colleague Mark Isherwood's British Sign Language Bill, which will offer an appropriate level of support for deaf people & those that have hearing loss or impairments. 5,600-7,300+ people living within Wales, and already using BSL are at present let down by insidious inaction. This cannot continue, particularly pertinent given consistent campaigning by British Deaf Association!
I'm in full support of BDA's call-to-action, "We need BSL Act Now!"
Further to this, it's disappointing Qualifications Wales are now no longer developing BSL GCSE letting learners achieve an academic recognition reflecting their talented skill sets.
