I'm delighted at attending a formal opening of Bridgend Dialysis Unit on Sunday, In April last year, I warmly welcomed an announcement of Swansea Bay Health Board establishing a satellite Brackla Kidney Dialysis Unit after a long battle by people like Dr David Webb. At that time, I strongly stated:
“Kidney patients in Bridgend face the prospect of travelling from their home area in order to get dialysis several times a week at the moment. Getting this unit in Bridgend will be a great boon to all of those undergoing dialysis as it will cut their journey times and make dialysis much more accessible."
